Hawalat is a perfect absurdist take on the plight of young men in a country whose political system and social mores are marred by corruption. Three homeless, jobless qualified young men make wild attempts to land up in a prison in order to get food and shelter from the cold winter. The play has just a dried tree as set and uses songs and dances to drive its theme through even as it entertains the audiences.

The play was performed to mark World Theatre Day celebrations by the Desh Bhagat Yadgar Committee, Jalandhar.
